Certified translation in USA means a specific thing. It is a translation produced by a state-appointed sworn translator (staatlich anerkannter Ubersetzer) who signs a declaration confirming the translation is an accurate and complete rendering of the original document. Without this, most German government agencies, courts, and university admissions offices will not accept the document.
We produce certified translations for birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, academic transcripts and diplomas, national identification documents, passports, criminal record extracts, employment records, power of attorney documents, and foreign court judgments.
Our sworn translators are registered with the relevant German courts and state authorities. Translations include the translator declaration on each page, the translator stamp, and the signature required for official acceptance.
For documents in unusual languages or scripts, please contact us first. Not all language pairs have readily available sworn translators in USA. If a language falls outside our certified network, we will tell you this before accepting the project.
Documents requiring notarization (notarielle Beglaubigung) are a separate step. We can advise on whether your document needs it and coordinate with local notaries if required.
